Hey all,
I had the opportunity to fly to New York for Fashion Week - and damn, it was amazing.
I had a great time hanging out with old work friends from Ksubi, and catching up with old friends that I made in New York over my time of living here.
This city is so vibrant around this time of year when people venture to the big apple from all around the world. The streets of Soho are lit up with fashion bloggers, fashionistas, designers and creatives in general.
New York fashion Association has many different locations where pre- show events happen, runway shows and presentations and places were celebrities fly in-and-out of town to make appearances.
Spring Studios (50 Varick Street) is the main location for shows, as well as Industria (775 Washington ave) and Pier 59. This season - VFILES held their runway show at Barclay's Center, and Rihanna x Fenty held her show in a private location located in Brooklyn.
Some shows I went to are below:
Friday 7th Fashion Palette Australian Collection held their merging designer runway with Tammy Hembrow showcasing her Saski Collection along with Jagger and Stone, Bronx and Banco etc.
Post runway show I was interviewed by @PrettyLittleThing for their NYFW Street Style Spot instagram take over. I explained my take on this years spotting: “At #NYFW this season I’ve definitely seen a lot of street wear style where girls are wearing sneakers with sports wear, dresses and mini skirts”.
On Sunday my girlfriend Brook and I went to @TelfarGlobal runway show at a secret location which was on a helicopter pad - TSS Heliport (E 34th Street).
My girlfriend Eman (www.emanbfendi.com) is a NY based personal shopper and stylist for Pro-ballers and NFL players. She has been going to 14 seasons and she allowed me to gain an insight of one of New Yorks biggest runway shows. @Naeemkhan which is a couture designer held their SS19 show at Spring Studios on Tuesday 11th. Socialites like Linda Fargo (director of women’s fashion of Bergdorf Goodman and the Senior Vice President of the Fashion Office was seen in the front row as well as Actors, Ashley Tisdale, Lucy Hale, and Whitney Port.
That show was by far the BEST one I’ve ever witnessed - it was all about bringing an 80s approach in a 21st century aesthetic. The music, the models, and the runway design was on point. It really felt like a Carry Bradshaw moment from Sex and the City. AND, I had the privilege to meet my role model, the iconic Ryan Seacrest!
I was dressed in @banxclothing - wearing their new collection 3M hoodie, hat, and Banx x Adorn high collared shirt. You can purchase yours from their website: banxclothing.com.au.
That’s all for #NYFW this year.
